The 1834 Craik-Patton House is Charleston’s premier house museum. Visitors can tour the museum and grounds and hear compelling stories of the house’s early inhabitants. These inhabitants include James Craik, whose family’s strong connection to George Washington is discussed; as well as Colonel George Smith Patton, founder of the Kanawha Riflemen and grandfather of the famed World War II general.
